As part of the collaboration protocol we signed with the Şanlıurfa Governorship, we are working to establish Neighborhoods Supporting Children.
By involving all actors surrounding children in the process, we aim to identify barriers to children’s social, emotional, and physical development, ensure access to educational opportunities that meet their developmental needs, and help them complete this process with maximum benefits. To this end, we will conduct school- and neighborhood-centered activities in collaboration with our circle participants.
In May and June, we began teacher training sessions for Social Emotional Learning and the School-Centered Child Protection Support System with volunteer teachers participating in our school-based initiatives.
- In the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training, conducted in collaboration with KODA, ÖRAV, and TEGV, we work with teachers on developing children’s skills in responsibility, decision-making, relationship-building, and understanding emotions.
- In the School-Centered Child Protection Support System training, conducted in collaboration with Nirengi Association, we guide school administrators and teachers on the step-by-step actions required under the Child Protection Law when encountering a child who is a victim of abuse or violence.
We extend our gratitude to our community stakeholders KODA, ÖRAV, TEGV, and Nirengi Association for their support in developing and disseminating our training content.
